Stiletto
The New Single by Mirren
Released via Interstice Records
MIRREN
Mirren Thomson, professionally known as Mirren, is a Glasgow-based experimental pop artist, producer, composer and vocalist creating music that merges visceral songwriting with the physicality of club culture. Her work moves between distorted electronics, sensual vocal performance, abstract composition and emotionally charged pop structures, balancing vulnerability with intensity.
Originally from Dumfries, Mirren's musical background began in emo and punk bands as a teenager. She began teaching herself music production through experimentation and instinct, building tracks through tape loops, pedals and heavily layered sound design. Alongside studying art, she developed a tactile and deliberately messy approach to composition - "smearing lots of things together" until something emotionally truthful emerged.
Her debut single, "Stiletto", is charged with rage and release. The track builds toward primal chants and distorted catharsis, capturing the emotional volatility that shaped the beginning of the project.

INTERSTICE RECORDS
Interstice Records formed through our Industry Collective project which supported a group of young people from different backgrounds to gain experience in running an independent record label.
Participants were awarded bursaries, a label start-up budget and a collective release budget to support them to setup their record label. They were also invited to attend talks by established independent record labels working across the UK and the rest of the world.
